German dass-Clauses

Use dass to report statements and place the conjugated verb at the end.

Explanation

dass introduces a subordinate clause that reports a statement, opinion, belief or fact.

Main clause + comma + dass + subject + rest + verb.

Examples

Ich weiß, dass du heute keine Zeit hast.I know that you do not have time today.
Er sagt, dass er morgen kommt.He says that he is coming tomorrow.
Dass er krank ist, wusste ich nicht.I did not know that he was ill.
